Trip Reports

May 5, 2013
Group: 5: Jocelyn Powelson (leader), Jon King (co-lead), Ben Bauer, Jamie Yang, Ethan Klein
Weather: Non-existent. The cave was a constant 50 degrees. Large amounts of water and mud were encountered.
Route: Entered the cave from an old quarry just outside of Rutland. Follow the main passage (on your hands and knees) to the main room of the cave. Several tight squeezes encountered, the smallest about 8.5 x 15 inches. Visited the source of the cave's water, the underground lake, and the waterfall.
Time: 4.5 hours underground
Notes: Had to drain one crawlspace on the entry, area did not refill. Becoming drenched in mud and water is inevitable, plan accordingly
